A pre-order promotion for Medal of Honor: Warfighter may have accidentally revealed that EA is working on Battlefield 4. According to a banner on EA's Origin digital distribution service, players who pre-order Medal of Honor: Warfighter will get access to the Battlefield 4 beta.

Until this point, neither EA or developer DICE have made any indication that a follow-up to last year's Battlefield 3 is in development. DICE is committed to making downloadable content for Battlefield 3 until March 2013.

The idea that EA and DICE are working on follow-up to the incredibly successful shooter isn't exactly hard to imagine, but the information paints a picture that, even if development on BF4 is already under way, it won't be coming until late 2013 at the earliest.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter launches worldwide October 23rd.
