Rise of the Guardians, a video game tie-in to the upcoming movie of the same name, is expected to come out for Wii U on November 23rd in Europe, according to D3Publisher.

Though Nintendo has said they plan to launch the Wii U before the end of 2012, the console-maker has not made mention of a release timetable for the console or any of its games. The release date for Rise of the Guardians may provide an outside date for the Wii U release window, just in time for Thanksgiving and the critical kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

The game, which is also coming out for Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on the same day, will hit stores just ahead of the film's European theatrical release on November 30th.

As we've mentioned in past articles, video games generally come out in North America a few days before they do in Europe: American retailers expect Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game to launch in North America on November 20th.

In Rise of the Guardians, players take control of childhood legends like Santa Clause, Jack Frost, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and Sandman, to fight an evil nightmare-making spirit. The game will feature upgradable abilities and four-player drop-in, drop-out co-op play.

Nintendo has said they plan to reveal their launch plan for the Wii U this fall.
