A central element in the mythology of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the life story of its chief villain, Raul Menendez. His life covers an epic span of real history and projected history, starting during the Cold War, passing through current times and out to 2025. With elements of some of the most iconic bad guys, from Keyser Soze to Tony Soprano, his villain swagger is off the charts. His ultimate motivation is revenge against the U.S. for crimes committed during the Cold War, but like the evil genius he is, he's managed to co-opt leadership of "Cordis Die," a billion-person-strong, socially-networked movement. The question is, now that he's got the world's attention and its people behind him, what will he do next?

For a unique perspective on the havoc a man like Menendez can cause, check out the Call of Duty: Black Ops II trailer posted above. You’ll see the familiar face of Frank Woods; but, he and the U.S. Black Ops forces are in for some dark times if they can’t put a stop to Menendez’ scheme.

The game is available now for pre-order, and will hit shelves on November 13, 2012.
