In the weeks since Betaworks acquired Digg, the development team put in charge of the site's future has already polled the public on the features it would like to see in the next incarnation, pared it down to four main points, and mocked up a wireframe of what it's calling Digg v1.

The dev team took it its blog, Rethink Digg, today and shared its vision to the rebirth of the social news website. Digg v1 will built around the following four tenets:

None
When you visit Digg.com later this week, the dev team says you'll be greeted with "a beautiful, image-friendly, and ad-free experience." The site will feature three main sections: Top Stories, Popular, and Upcoming. The new version will not include a comment section, as the team is still trying to figure out how to implement comments in a way that works with the current social infrastructure of the web.

Along with a new mobile site, there will also a new Digg score feature that will take into account how a story is doing on Facebook and Twitter. The popular stories won't only be the ones with the most Diggs, but the ones with the most retweets and Likes. A team of moderators will also be put in place to help choose where popular stories get placed on the site.
