Though it was initially reported that the next season of How I Met Your Mother would be the show's last, it looks like the world is going to have to wait a little longer to find out who, exactly, the damn mother is - according to Vulture, the show's network CBS and 20th Century Fox have apparently begun "preliminary talks" to extend contracts for another year or two. This is reportedly due to high ratings (which in themselves are probably due to Neil Patrick Harris's presence because we can't think of any other reason why), which translates to more advertisers, which translates to more money, etc. Basically, business stuff.
