Google is finally launching it's broadband Internet service, Google Fiber, which the company began building in cooperation with Kansas City in March of last year. Google Fiber will provide the residents of the Kansas City Metropolitan area with Internet at speeds of 100 gigabits per second, 100x the speed of the average broadband connection, as well as a Google Fiber TV service that provides access to many popular channels via TV, smartphone or tablet.

For Internet and TV, KC residents  will be charged $120 per month, a price that also includes a free Nexus 7 tablet and 1 TB of storage on Google Drive.

Though Google Fiber is launching in Kansas City only, it will expand to more cities soon. Google is asking people who our interested in having Google Fiber in their town to pre-register so it can figure out where demand is greatest.
