The next time your little brother or sister, niece or nephew, son or daughter, tell you that they have nothing to do, tell them to organize your iTunes library. After that, tell them to get on the computer and check out Maker Camp, an online summer camp for kids between the ages 13 to 18.

Maker Camp, a partnership between Google and Dale Dougherty, the publisher of the do-it-yourself bible Make Magazine, started today and will run Monday through Thursday. Each morning, a counselor will post instructions for a new project on http://g.co/makercamp that will involve materials and tools easily found around the house. If the kids have questions about the projects, they can join a Google+ hangout with junior counselors have them answered in real time.
