As if it wasn't already bad enough that 63-year-old Wallace Weatherholt had his hand bitten off by a 9-foot alligator, he was charged with unlawful feeding for attempting to entice the beast with a fish. Now he's without a hand and faces a second degree misdemeanor charge.

The alligator was later found and euthanized, and though Weatherholt's hand was also found, it could not be reattached. Did they really need to arrest this man and slap with with a $1,000 bond after he lost his hand? Clearly what he did was stupid, but a missing hand is a pretty permanent reminder of that.

He'll be in court again on August 22. Only in Florida.
