Several moviegoers were nearly trampled while trying to escape a theater in West Homestead, PA (outside of Pittsburgh), after a fight erupted during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises. According to witness Colin Marks: "There were two people who got into an argument, and one person yelled something that induced people to get into a panic." Marks says he paused on his way to the exit to keep others from trampling people who had fallen during the rush.

Tensions have been high at screenings of the film following the shooting in Aurora, CO. No one was was charged because of this incident, and patrons were given free passes to a later screening. This is the very same AMC Loews Waterfront 22 theater where a man was killed back in November 2005, resulting in 50 Cent's semi-autobiographical film Get Rich Or Die Tryin' being pulled from Loews.
