The District briefly went into security overdrive after a D.C. police officer allegedly threatened to shoot First LadyMichelle Obama. The officer was overheard making the threat Wednesday morning, and witnesses reportedly saw him showing a picture of the gun he planned to use with his phone. Another officer also overheard the threat and informed a superior.
D.C. police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump issued a statement, saying, "We received an allegation that inappropriate comments were made. We are currently investigating the nature of those comments." It's unclear if Obama's life was actually in jeopardy, but the officer has been placed on administrative duty regardless.
