The world's largest Internet market is now even bigger. According to a report from the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), China's Internet population has grown 11% since last year to a staggering 538 million people.
Despite slowing growth, China still managed to add 25 million new Internet users over the past year. A number greatly attributed to the increase in smartphonesales. According to the CNNIC's report, China now has 388.25 million mobile Internet users, or 39% of all mobile phone users.
For comparison purposes, in the United States, 75.6% of the population, or 239 million people, use the Internet. Out of that number, 113.9 million access the Internet on their mobile phones. And out of that group, 106.7 million do so via a smartphone.
