Charlie Sheen Addressed Those "American Idol" Rumors on "The Tonight Show"

Listen up, Fox.

So, those rumors about American Idol attempting to court Charlie Sheen to be a new judge next season may have been started as a joke, but according to Sheen himself, he wouldn't mind joining the reality singing competition to fill one of the spots vacated by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler...if Idol agrees to a few of his terms. Which were, as he told TMZ, that FX (the home of his new series Anger Management) sign off on it, and that his salary be high enough that it "matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club."

Sadly, however, it seems like Sheen may have been joking as well. In an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, the actor divulged that no one had ever approached him about becoming a judge on the series, saying, "I had never thought about it, and I heard it on the news, so I thought I'd better respond to that. I came up with my terms ... and I'm waiting to hear back."

He does believe he could be a good judge on the show, though, adding: "I could be helpful and give these kids some guidance without leading them to suicide."
