If you're still smarting from the news that AMC has opted not to renew The Killing after two seasons, here's something that'll hopefully make you feel better: According to the New York Post, the network is apparently in the process of developing a show based on the super secretive Area 51.
The series will be based on Annie Jacobsen's 2011 nonfiction book about the military base, and focus on "the workers in Area 51 who protect America’s deepest, darkest secrets — including the remains of the "alien" crash at Roswell — and how they become infected with Cold War paranoia." So not totally about aliens, sadly. Somewhere, Fox Mulder is probably disappointed.
