First and foremost, R.I.P TomKat, though we never bought it from the jump. But now that Katie Holmes has filed for divorce in New York City, Tom Cruise might have a bit of problem on his hands. Holmes is seeking sole custody of their daughter, Suri, and she's more likely to be granted that by a New York court than a California one.
In addition, Cruise has been legally working his ass off to avoid any association with NYC because the tax rates are so high, so he doesn't want there to be any trace that the former couple lived there. However, TMZ got their hands on documents which show that Tom deeded their New York apartment to Katie last August. Katie will reportedly use this to gain residency in New York for the purpose of the divorce.
This would really fuck Cruise over tax-wise, but Holmes probably sees it as payback for robbing her of her mid-20s. He'll be alright though, Scientology will save him.
