Although the character of Venom made for a disappointing villain in Spider-Man 3, that hasn't stopped Sony from keeping an interest in the homicidal Symbiote. Not only is the studio attempting to move ahead with a Venom solo film, but, according to Hollywood.com, the movie might tie into director Marc Webb's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man universe.
"What I'm trying to say to you without giving anything away is hopefully all these worlds will live together in peace someday," said Amazing Spider-Man producer Matthew Tolmach in an interview with the site.
We're sure he didn't want to give much away, but, of course, with that quote he opened the door to the type of rampant speculation that movie fans simply love. So, if Venom does exist in the same universe as The Amazing Spider-Man, do you expect these two foes to square off eventually? Or will the studio force these two to work together now that Avengers has seemingly started a superhero team-up trend?
