Truck Driver Lindsay Lohan Crashed Into Was Bankrupt

Is he trying to score a big payout from the troubled actress?

None

Details continue to leak out about Lindsay Lohan's unfortunate car accident last week— somehow lost in all this drama is the fact that the actress is still living and breathing, thankfully— and today it's been revealed that James Johnson, the truck driver who she hit, actually filed for bankruptcy last year.

At the time, he listed a whopping $80 in assets. Yes, you read that correctly. $80! He must have felt like he hit the jackpot when Lindsay ran into him. Consequently, he has reportedly hired a lawyer and may pursue legal action against her now, perhaps with the hopes of scoring a big payday.

According to Radar Online, in court documents that he filed in February of 2011, Johnson's business JJ's Trucking was said to be in debt for $57,000, while he owed $3,000 in taxes. At the time of the bankruptcy filing, in addition to $80, he also had furniture worth $3,500. He owed $10,000 on a Ford F150, and had another truck repossessed in 2008, which he still owes $28,000 on.

Suffice it to say, Johnson's financial position, and therefore his motives for hiring a lawyer, seem to be in question. That said, we doubt the guy was going around looking to have celebrities crash into him.
