Now that Meow, an obese cat from New Mexico, is dead, this shelter feline named Sponge Bob is the fattest documented cat in the world. Sponge Bob weighs 30 pounds and lives at the Animal Haven Shelter in SoHo.

Kendra Mara, associate director of the shelter, admits that it is "pretty abnormal" for a cat to be the approximate size of a four-year-old. Still, Mara is looking for someone to adopt Sponge Bob, who is gross.

Mara also says that there's nothing wrong with Sponge Bob, and that if he's kept on a strict diet he will return to a normal size.
