This is just downright embarrassing. A reporter for Xi'an Up Close was sent to the city of Liucunbu after village workers discovered what they thought was a strange fungus. It turns out that this rare mushroom was actually an artificial vagina. Still, the not-so-covert device managed to fool the reporter.
The station used its reporters as a shield, calling them "young and unfamiliar with worldly affairs." Still, there was a team full of editors, producers and an entire crew that should've known what they were dealing with. Producers have since apologized, but being uninformed is never a good look.
At least they didn't try to eat it.
