Director: Alfonso Cuarón
Stars: Maribel Verdú, Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna
Vacation destination: La Boca del Cielo ("Heaven's Mouth") beach

When two teenagers (García Bernal, Luna) find themselves without their girlfriends for the summer, they find an unlikely replacement lover (an older, married woman) by promising to take her to an isolated beach that—surprise!—doesn't actually exist.

The film's illicit premise is only a portion of its allure. The unlikely trio's trip to nowhere affords an opportunity to look at Mexico through new eyes, and leaves each changed. There is also a steep degree of sexual discovery owed to that transformation, which makes Y Tu Mamá a coming-of-age story that's perfect for enjoying on a sultry summer night.
