Director: Ivan Reitman
Stars: Bill Murray, Chris Makepeace, Kate Lynch
Vacation destination:  Camp North Star

Long before Groundhog Day left us doubled over with laughter, Bill Murray was splitting guts with his first starring role as enthusiastic head counselor, Tripper Harrison.

As a counselor who "knows the facts of life, but forgot them," Murray coaches his captive campers in matters appropriate (with his famously rousing cheers of "It just doesn't matter!" consoling losers of the annual Olympiad) to less so (encouraging them to score, ahem, during non camp-sanctioned activities). Sure, there is a fair share of formulaic camp scenes (scrawny kid turned hero? Haven't see that before!), but with Murray at the help, even the most heavy-handed clichés become comedic gems.
