"Hello, police officer? I'm about to loot several stores in your town. Just a heads up!"

In Washington state, there's a law that warns "a motorist with criminal intentions [must] stop at the city limits and telephone the chief of police as he is entering the town." So if you intend to commit a crime, you're supposed to alert the police in advance? We've seen our share of dim-witted criminals, but none have ever been asinine enough to be honest or self-incriminating enough to attempt this one.
