The scariest clown ever, Pennywise, is ready for his big-screen debut. Warner Bros. has announced that acclaimed director Cary Fukunaga (Sin Nombre, Jane Eyre) is set to adapt Stephen King's frightening novel It into a two-part movie series.

Fukanaga and screenwriter Chase Palmer will rewrite the script, taking over the duties from Dave Kajganich, who'd been on the project since 2009. There’s no set date for when shooting will begin, but, with It back in the spotlight (we're still shook from the 1990 TV mini-series, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise), it's probably best to avoid clowns at all costs.
