Vulture is reporting that Stephen Colbert has joined the cast of the upcoming 3D animated film Mr. Peabody and Sherman, an update on the classic Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons. The movie follows Mr. Peabody, the smartest person in the world who also happens to be a dog, and Sherman, the boy he just so happens to time travel with. Sans Delorean, yes, but not everyone can be as cool as Marty Mcfly and co., of course. Anyway, Colbert is set to voice the character of Paul Peterson, who is described as Mr. Peabody's "nemesis."

If this turns out to be anything like the time he was Larry David's nemesis on Curb Your Enthusiasm, consider us sold.
