After announcing its Nexus 7 tablet, Google unexpectedly took the wraps off a sphere-shaped social media player dubbed the Nexus Q. An at-home media player that allows anyone in your crib with a smartphone to stream music or video to a home entertainment system, the Nexus Q brings Google directly into your living room where it will battle against Apple and its Apple TV media player. 

So, what's inside the ominous sphere? To see what makes the American-made device work, Jon Phillips of Wired's Gadget Lab got an exclusive look at every component. According to Phillips, the Nexus Q's interior was "engineered and crafted with exacting attention to detail."
