Just a week after Jerry O'Connell was cast as Herman Munster in Mockingbird Lane, Portia de Rossi has been hired to play his wife, Lily, according to Deadline. Mariana Klaveno was originally cast in the role, but because of scheduling conflicts with her ABC show, Devious Maids, she wasn't able to commit to the Munsters reboot.
This left the door open for the Arrested Development alum to come in and claim the part. She will be joining O'Connell, Eddie Izzard, Mason Cook, and Charity Wakefield in the pilot for the show, which will be directed by Bryan Singer. As longtime fans will remember, the role of Lily was made famous by Yvonne De Carlo in the original Munsters TV show, so it will be interesting to see how de Rossi measures up.
