After the Wii U's successful re-unveiling and Microsoft's SmartGlass reveal, it's no surprise that Sony would want to join the two-screen revolution. The thing is, though, they've been pushing it for years with Cross Play between handheld and living room consoles.

Sure, they haven't been doing a very good job, but PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale could change that. The Smash Bros.-alike will allow players to compete regardless of whether they're playing on the PS3 or the PS Vita.

This is great news in particular for anyone looking forward to playing it on Vita, but worried about getting an inferior portable version. The game must be pretty much identical on the Vita and the PS3 if the two can compete with one another.

During their E3 press conference yesterday, Sony also unveiled two new characters to brawl with: Uncharted's Nathan Drake and Bioshock's Big Daddy. We're glad to see they're bringing in characters who aren't Sony-exclusive (although we won't be happy until we can be absolutely sure that Kevin Butler is in it).

What other characters would you like to brawl with in PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter.
