"Ninja Turtles" Reboot Set To Start Filming This Year

Or: How Michael Bay ravaged the franchise.

None

The controversial reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is just going to be titled Ninja Turtles, is set to start filming this summer/fall in Vancouver, according to The Province. Produced by Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans), this new take on the franchise will portray the turtles as aliens instead of, well, turtles. We're assuming they will at least still have shells, but at this point nothing is sacred.

According to the site, there is a one-line plot synopsis of the movie that states, "Aliens invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world."

We're not sure how legit that is, but it sounds like the type of story and scope that Bay prefers. We won't be exactly embracing this new take on the characters without seeing some footage first, but with Bay and Liebesman involved, at least we know it will look good on the surface.
