52-year-old Thomas Tomasello was arrested for felony assault after he beat 35-year-old Nicholas Cacace with a baseball bat and then bit off a chunk of his ear—all because of television. Cacace caused quite a stir when he changed the channel at Staten Island's Oakwood Diner from an oldies music channel to ESPN.
Louise Newhman, an ex-waitress, was not happy with Cacace's decision, so she phoned her husband. Tomasello, who owns the place, soon arrived and the fight was on. Did a man really need to lose part of his ear over this?
