As if the triple digit heat wasn't enough, several people in the Mid-Atlantic region have been left without power following aggressive summer storms. As people complained about Netflix, Instagram and Pinterest all being down, at least 1.5 million people in the D.C. area are without power as 80 mph winds took out trees and power lines. This problem will not be resolved soon, either.
About a million people are without power in Ohio as well, and West Virgina governor Earl Ray Tomblin declared a state of emergency after half a million residents were left without power. Both Ohio and West Virginia have also declared states of emergency. Worse, falling trees have killed nine people—six in Virginia, one in Maryland and two in New Jersey.
25 states will experience temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, and that will effect 47 million people. So, in summary, it's going to be hot as hell outside and a lot of people will have to cope without power for an undetermined amount of time. Yup, best weekend ever.
