In addition to SmartGlass and a slew of new games, Microsoft announced another exciting new addition to Xbox 360 at E3 today that non-obsessive followers might have missed: Internet Explorer.

While a new version of IE might not sound all that tantalizing at first, the fact that it's on an Xbox is significant. With a full-featured browser in the console, Xbox owners would be able to get access to the whole Internet on their TV set, a prospect for which their are still disappointingly few legal options.

Microsoft says IE for Xbox will support both voice and motion controls in addition to navigation via the Xbox controller. It will be available for download via Xbox Live this fall.
