A new Al Jazeera documentary suggests that Sesame Street is being used as a torture method at Guantanamo Bay. According to Songs Of War, prisoners at the infamous United States Naval base are being forced to listen to music from the show on repeat for hours and occasionally days at a time.

Here's what the show's shocked, award-winning composer Christopher Cerf told Al Jazeera upon hearing the news:

Of course I didn't really like the idea that I was helping break down prisoners, but it was much worse when I heard later that they were actually using the music in Guantanamo to do deep, long-term interrogations and obviously to inflict enough pain on prisoners so they would talk."

Good luck telling kids that education isn't torture. Back in '08, it was reported that Metallica was used to torture prisoners. Is Big Bird scarier than the Napster nay-sayers?
