Flipboard, one of our favorite news and social network aggregation apps, has taken a big step forward by finally releasing an Android version of its popular app as well as updating it with YouTube and Google+ support.

In addition to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, users will now be able to connect their Google+ accounts to Flipboard and interact with content from the Google social network directly from app. And starting today Android users will be able to download the newest version of Flipboard from the Google Play store.

Initially released in 2010 for iPad, Flipboard, which allows users to create a personalized magazine-like feed of all their news sources and social networks, has been consistently been ranked among the best smartphone apps available, and was named Apple's iPad App of the Year in 2010.
