As debates over the tech specs and processing power of the Wii U continue to rage over the internet, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli rold CVG that the Wii U is powerful enough to run CryEngine 3, his studio's advanced graphics engine. Yerli says the Wii U is at "minimum on par with the current generation."

Though Crytek isn't currently working on a game for the Wii U, Yerli says a "respected developer" is making a game for the platform using CryEngine 3:

"It doesn't mean that CryEngine 3 doesn't run on Wii U - it actually runs beautifully," says Yerli. "In fact, there actually is a game in development from a respected developer that we will be announcing. I've seen the game running and it looks really great."

Of course, many gamers are more interested what's going to happen when the Wii U has to compete with Microsoft and Sony's next-gen consoles.
