Cornell is the only private institution to hold one of the five copies in existence—the other four copies are in state of federal government repositories. In 1949 Mrs. Nicholas H. Noyes presented the manuscript to Cornell, as part of the Nicholas H. Noyes collection of Historical Americana.…and I held it in my bare hands. The back-story of its travels is fucking amazing.
