We already knew that Bill Murray had opted out of the Ghostbusters sequel, but now we're just finding out why: According to Murray himself, they just "don't have a really good script."
"That's about all they [wanted] to know at Cannes, too...they just don't have a really good script," he explained during a recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. "It's hard. You know, even the second Ghostbusters wasn't as much fun for me as the first one. It's hard to make a sequel. That first one was so darn funny. It's hard for me."
He did offer one glimmer of hope for fans - writers may try to revamp the script, which was originally written by The Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, then revised by Dan Aykroyd. "I always drag my feet on it," he added, "but you know, we'll try again."
