After months of rumors, Apple finally took the wraps off of its new, updated MacBook line at the 2012 Worldwide Developers Conference. And they are pretty damn amazing.
The MacBook Air, which was beginning to cannibalize MacBook Pro sales, was upgraded to Intel's new Ivy Bridge processors up to 2.0 GHz and will come with 4 GB of ram standard (upgradeable to 8 GB), a 720p FaceTime Camera, and USB 3.0, and SSDs available up to 512 GB. The other good news? They'll be $100 cheaper.
The MacBook Pros received a similiarly robust upgrade:
- Intel Ivy Bridge processors ranging from 2.3 GHz to a Quad-core 2.6 GHz Core i7
- Nvidia's GeForce GT 650 with up to 1GB of memory
- Two Thunderbolt ports, SD card slot, USB 3.0
500GB of HDD or 750GB of HDD
Both laptops are available starting today at the Apple Store.
