We have some good news for Galaxy S II owners: Samsung has not forgotten about you. AT&T subscribers using the last-gen model of Samsung's flagship smartphone received a text alerting that they could upgrade to Androind 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Last week Samsung officially launched its new top-tier smartphone, the Galaxy S III, which runs the latest version of Google's mobile operating system. Google, this week announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at its 2012 I/O conference.
Google, smartphone manufactuers, and wireless carriers are notorious for not creating an easy path for customers to upgrade the software on their Android phones. A survey released released earlier this month showed that an overwhelmingly large number of Android users are still using version 2.2.
