One of the summer's biggest movies, Universal Pictures' Battleship, loosely based on the Hasbro board game of the same name, follows a group of naval officers as they come face to face with an alien fleet of unknown origins and are forced to engage in a battle across the seas, sky, and land to keep our planet safe. The majority of the film takes place in the water, and that's also exactly how it was filmed: right off the coast of Hawaii, with the entire production set up on a barge in the middle of the ocean.

In honor of the film's upcoming release, we've got an exclusive behind the scenes look at the making of Battleship. In the clip, director Peter Berg and stars Rihanna and Taylor Kitsch talk about what it was like filming in the water in an effort to keep the action as real as possible.

In addition to Rih-Rih and Kitsch, Battleship also stars Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood), Brooklyn Decker, and Liam Neeson.

Excited? Luckily, you won't have to wait too long. Battleship is set to be released in theaters next Friday, May 18th.
