Once again, another typo, another institution of learning drowning in shame. This time the mistake reared its ugly head at the commencement ceremony for the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at UT Austin. The program erroneously left out the “l” in “public,” changing the message for the better—if you have a sense of humor.
The university apologized via Twitter:
This year's commencement program cover contained an unfortunate typographical error, which has since been corrected and is being distributed
Our deepest apologies to our 2012 graduates for the egregious typo in our commencement program. We are working to distribute new programs.
The school issued an email to students letting them know that the typo had been corrected and that new programs would be distributed. But the damage was done. That program is now an official souvenir that the Assistant Dean for Communications fears will find its way to The Daily Show.
