Just a few months ago, it seemed like an Anchorman sequel was dead in the water. In fact, Will Ferrell and director Adam McKay had said as much on numerous occasions. But then out of nowhere, the movie was quickly announced and we were given a teaser poster in a matter of weeks. And as the movie continues to take shape, Funny or Die has just put the first teaser trailer for the project online.
Debuting with The Dictator over the weekend, this trailer is short and sweet. Don't expect any scenes from the actual movie here because we're pretty sure none of those are even close to finished yet. Just look at this trailer as visual evidence that this highly-anticipated sequel is actually on the way. Along with Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner are all back in their familiar roles. Noticeably absent is Christina Applegate, but the cast is still being solidified so that announcement could be coming.
There is no set release date as of yet, but Anchorman: The Legend Continues will hit theaters next year.

The gang is all here. Well, except for Christina Applegate.
