We love Minecraft, but we've always fantasized about a more realistic version, and ideally one with guns. There's always Guncraft, though that only fits half the bill.

With StarForge, though, our wishes may finally be fulfilled. The game features realistic graphics and physics, shooting (in space!), loot-dropping enemies, a leveling system with RPG-like skill unlocks, and the ability to build anything, anywhere (with the proper resources, of course).

It's Minecraft, in space, with badass guns and giant spiders to shoot. There are two modes, one inspired by Terraria and Borderlands, the other by Halo, Minecraft and Warcraft III, according to the video's narrator.

The game is currently in a playable alpha state, and you can check out the Youtube video's info section for an up-to-date list of download locations.
