After President Obama blessed Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffleslast fall, the California staple has renamed a menu item after him. Back in October, the POTUS crushed the famous “Country Boy” 3-wing combo, and now Brandon Jennings’ beloved spot has renamed the meal “Obama’s Special.”
The owners initially stated that they wouldn’t rename the dish after No. 44 to be fair to previous regulars Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, but they've clearly changed their minds. It is an election year, after all.
Of course you have to acknowledge the stereotypes regarding fried chicken, but this was more about paying homage than snidedisrespect. Thoughts? Feelings?
