North Carolina still refuses to join the 21st century—and reality—by outlawing gay marriage, and the most zealous citizens have taken homophobia to new heights. After Rev. Sean Harrissuggested parents beat their kids into traditional gender roles, another “man of God” has said he thinks all gays and lesbians should be placed behind electric fences and left to die.
Here are Pastor Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church’s words of wisdom from last Sunday’s sermon:
“I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers, but I couldn't get it passed through Congress…. Build a great, big, large fence - 50 or 100 mile long - put all the lesbians in there… Fly over and drop some food. Do the same thing with the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified 'til they can't get out... And you know what, in a few years, they'll die out. Do you know why? They can't reproduce.”
