Nest's Sexy Thermostat Lands At Apple Stores

A natural fit.

None

The Nest Learning Thermostat has always been a spiritual sibling of an Apple product— It was designed by former Apple designer and "Father of the iPod" Tony Fadell and shares the ambition of many Apple devices to redefine whole product categories using great design and a focus on user friendliness. Now, the Nest is sold like an Apple product, too.

As of yesterday, you can buy a Nest Learning Thermostat ($249) from Apple's website and they'll soon be available at Apple retail stores as well. It's a big win for Nest, who should be able to find new customers among the Apple faithful who are already used to paying extra for premium products that work beautifully. And for the control freaks at Apple, this makes one home electronics device they can take off their reinvention list.
