According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks with Warner Brothers to develop and star in a new version of the popular plant-based musical/comedy, Little Shop of Horrors. Marc Platt, the producer behind Broadway's Wicked will take on the same role here, and comic book scribe and playwright, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, will be providing the script to the movie.
Gordon-Levitt will take on the role of Seymour, the florist behind the man-eating plants in the original. The site doesn't specify if the movie is still being looked at as a musical or if it will take on a different direction altogether. The original Little Shop of Horrors was directed by Roger Corman back in 1960, but most people are probably more familiar with the 1986 version that was directed by Frank Oz and starred Rick Moranis.
