According to Collider, James Badge Dale (Shame) has been cast as Eric Savin in director Shane Black'sIron Man 3. In the comics, Savin was a Colonel in the army that got critically wounded by a land mine and had to be put back together as the cyborg mercenary known as Coldblood.
Although he was an anti-hero in the books, it isn't yet known if the movie will turn him into Coldblood, or if Marvel is just setting up the character for future installments. In the comics Savin was involved in a top secret project known as Ultra-Tech. This part of the character's background could be easily adapted and modernized to fit in with Warren Ellis' "Extremis" storyline, which the movie is rumored to be based off of.
Dale joins a star-studded cast in Iron Man 3, including Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Sir Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and Rebecca Hall. The movie is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
