If you're on AT&T or Sprint and were waiting on one of HTC's badass new super phones, we have some bad news. The HTC One X (AT&T) and EVO 4G LTE (Sprint) have both been delayed indefinitely in the U.S. despite imminent launch dates.
The phones are the first American casualties of HTC's ongoing legal battle with Apple. U.S. Customs is holding back shipments of the devices because they're suspected of infringing on Apple's patents.
According to an exclusion order that Apple won against HTC last year, the company is banned from importing any of its Android phones that handle contact information in the manner outlined by Apple patent #5,946,647. The One X and EVO 4G LTE may be guilty of that charge.
It's not yet known when HTC will be able to get its phones released, or whether it will have to make changes to the software.
The EVO 4G LTE was expected to hit stores this Friday, but that's not happening any more. In a statement, Sprint said customers who pre-ordered the phone would be notified of the new ship date "as soon as possible." Cancellations are also available.
