Add this to the list of legendary Facebook facepalms: A 17-year-old girl in Australia got her mother's house robbed mere hours after posting a photo of "a large sum of cash" on Facebook.
The cash actually belonged to the girl's grandmother and wasn't at the house that was robbed, but the thieves still took money and other unspecified items, threatening the girl's mother with a knife and club.
The girl had been helping her grandmother count her retirement savings in a different town in Australia when she decided a photo of the cash pile would make a cool Facebook post. The image fell before the wrong eyes and the thieves quickly tracked down the girl's parents' house in pursuit of the bounty.
Now Australian police are warning Facebook users to be wary of the information they share on social media.
Yeah, no kidding.
