As if you needed another reason to see Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic.

Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained has been a project shrouded in mystery and mired in behind-the-scenes turmoil over the last few months; however, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most anticipated films of 2012. And now us mere mortals who didn't get to see the footage of the film that premiered at The Cannes Film Festival are about to get our first glimpse at the movie when the debut trailer premieres with Ridley Scott'sPrometheus on June 8, according to Variety's Stuart Oldham.

This move makes complete sense because Prometheus is set to be one of the biggest movies of the summer, and that means the trailer will reach a much wider audience of R-rated film fans. Plus, both movies are currently the darlings of the internet, which will surely help spread the word of Django like wildfire. Just in case Prometheus isn't on your radar, we'll be sure to get the trailer up right when it hits the net.

Django Unchained will be released in theaters on December 25.
