A job listing from Total War series developer Creative Assembly has indicated that their upcoming game based on the Aliens franchise is being developed for both current and next-gen consoles.

Creative Assembly is looking for someone to work on a "AAA multi-platform title on current and future generation consoles set in the Alien universe." The posting specifically calls for someone familiar with Xbox 360, PS3 and PC development, so it's a fairly safe bet the game is being developed with those platforms in mind. As for the next-gen hardware, no platforms are specified, but a Wii U release seems likely.

Creative Asssembly's take on Aliens, which will likely be the third game set in the Aliens franchise in as many years, was described as a "peer to Dead Space 2" when it was first confirmed by Sega last year. Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines, a first-person shooter also set in the Aliens universe, is on track to be released later this year.

Creative Assembly's Aliens currently does not have a set release date.
